National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) supports accurate and compatible measurements by certifying and providing over 1300 Standard Reference Materials® with well-characterized composition or properties, or both. These materials are used to perform instrument calibrations in units as part of overall quality assurance programs, to verify the accuracy of specific measurements and to support the development of new measurement methods.

NMIJ: National Metrology Institute of Japan

National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ) is composed of four Research Institutes (Engineering Measurement, Physical Measurement, Material and Chemical Measurement and Analytical Instrumentation Measurement), Center for Quality Management of Metrology and Research Promotion Division of NMIJ. NMIJ produces certified reference materials (CRMs) to determine measurement values in chemical measurements such as calibration of analytical instruments and evaluation of analytical procedures.

NIM China: National Institute of Metrology of China

National Institute of Metrology of China (NIM) was established in 1955 and is affiliated to the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR). It is the nation’s highest research facility of measurement science, a national statutory authority in the field of metrology, and a non-profit R&D institution. At present NIM provides 1900 certified reference materials (CRMs), 833 primary reference materials, and 1067 secondary reference materials.

NRC Canada: National Research Council of Canada’s (NRC)

The National Research Council of Canada’s (NRC) Metrology Research Centre prepares high-quality and reliable certified reference materials (CRMs) for industrial and academic research. Selection of CRMs are applied in the following areas: cannabis and hemp, clinical, COVID-19, environment, food safety, forensics, high purity materials, isotope ratio, nanomaterials, nuclear forensics and nutrition. NRC also have the capacity to develop and produce custom CRM materials based on customer needs.

Here, IRMM reference materials have dedicated facilities for the processing and storage of reference materials as well state of the art analytical laboratory facilities. NMISA

Metrology started in South Africa in 1946, with the formation of the National Physical Research Laboratory as a division of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). NMISA is an ISO 17034: 2016 accredited reference material producer. NMISA currently offer CRMs for instrument calibration in the area of forensic blood alcohol analysis, blood preservation, breathalyser calibration, mycotoxin analysis and primary reference gas mixtures for environmental pollution monitoring.
